The 2010 Oklahoma Envirothon is scheduled for April 6, 2010. The Competition
will take place at the Arcadia Conservation Education Area near Edmond,
Oklahoma . The competition will consist of Field Tests and an Oral
Presentation. Instead of a 2 and 1/2 day event as in past years, this year's competition will be a 1 day contest. The following is the tentative agenda: 8:00am Welcome and Opening, 8:30am Field Testing Begins, 12:30pm Lunch, 1:30pm Prep for oral presentations, 2:00pm Oral presentations, 5:00pm Awards presentations. The Field Tests will be administered at 4 field stations: Aquatic Ecology, Forestry, Soils/Land Use and Wildlife. The test at each station will consist of multiple choice, fill in the blank and short answer questions. The questions will cover the subject area (i.e. Aquatic ecology, Forestry, Soils/Land Use, Wildlife) as well as the Current Issue as it relates to the respective subject area. Key points for each subject area are available at the links below. Study material for the Current Issue are available on the Canon Envirothon website. The Oral Presentation will consist of a 10 minute presentation on a current issue to be announced. The problem statement for the Oral Presentation portion of the competition will be distributed to all registered teams 3-4 weeks before the competition date. Current Issue: Protection of Groundwater Through Urban, Agricultural and Environmental Planning.
